Updates on the Daedalus
/Last week I got a chance to catch up w/ the Captain of the Daedalus to check in on how things are going. When we last talked during the immediate aftermath of Sally, he was spending his days on the water looking for the Daedalus and had just found her beached. She had carried her broken moorings inland a few miles North of the pass and he was in that combination of thrill and heartache that came from finding his boat and surveying her condition.
It looks like Daedalus is going to spend the season on shore as the repairs are underway. Insurance payouts, materials all take the amount of time they take. On a positive note, he’s looking at bringing on a second boat soon in hopes of resuming cruises soon.
There was talk of a Catamaran…
At any rate, it is good to hear Orange Beach and Gulf Shores starting to return to normal. The double-whammy of Covid and Hyperactive storm seasons did them no favors.
